Web 2.0 Predictions

March 23rd, 2007 , by amitagwl

What can we really do with web 2.0? Can it mine all the information on the internet, understand my wants, needs, behaviour and give me all the information that I am interested in? Can it be a push based information model instead of current pull/on-demand model? Web 2.0 probably needs to evolve into more semantic web to address all these requirements. Ben Hunt predictions for web 2.0 are very interesting.

What about Google buying assets of Mozilla foundation in 2009 so that they can use Firefox 3 and it’s offline AJAX capability to deliver web OS. Can Google afford not the own a web browser and depend solely on open source if they want to bring down MS.

With the rumors of Google building a mobile phone, browser will just be little more logical step. They can have the features of StumbleUpon and Furl built into it and again capture all the personal data related to us!
